Basketball: Shot Training and Workouts

Importance of Shooting in Basketball
There are a few fundamental skills every basketball player should always be working to improve upon. And none may be more important than shooting. Whether it’s a seasoned veteran, or someone brand new to the sport, shooting is a key skill that is essential to the value of a player’s game.
Working with a basketball shooting coach near you can help harness that skill, correct form, and provide instruction to take you to the next level. Here at RDE Sports, we have professional coaches with years of experience that can provide a high level of coaching you won’t find anywhere else. Our coaches, all with collegiate and professional playing experience, are dedicated to working with youth and teen athletes to help them with their shooting technique and form, developing them into high level, competitive basketball players.
Why Work with a Basketball Shooting Coach?
It doesn’t matter how experienced a player is; there is always an opportunity to get better. Even NBA professionals continue to refine and improve their shot each year. One of the most effective ways to improve skills is through one-on-one, personalized coaching. This structure allows our coaches to identify bad habits, solidify proper technique, and work with your athlete to boost confidence with visible results.
What Makes a Great Basketball Shooting Coach?
A great basketball shot trainer doesn’t just teach an athlete how to shoot better, they identify bad habits, correct form, identify how to read screens, show how to get open, how to read defenses and, most importantly, learn the intricacies of each athlete, providing personalized training that best fits their needs.
All of our coaches have high level playing experience, both collegiately and professionally, that has transcended into competitive coaching at multiple levels. Many are working on a daily basis, with years of experience that has helped countless athletes grow and improve as players. With their knowledge of the game and how to coach it, our trainers’ teaching style is tailored to each individual athlete, ensuring the best possible training regimes. How Basketball Shot Training Works at RDE Sports
A proper basketball shot isn’t about just one or two things. There are countless aspects and key focus points to take into consideration in order to shoot at a high clip. Our coaches are focused on the fundamentals of a player’s shot, like footwork, balance, mechanics, and follow-through. Alongside those key components and more, we ensure that every aspect of a player’s shot is correct and comfortable for them. From there, we continuously work to create consistency and refined technique, leading to measurable results.

Here at RDE Sports, we implement a number of different strategies and training aids to make the most of each session. Our coaches can record players to playback and focus on form in real time. We also have multiple shooting machines (The Gun & Dr. Dish) to allow for consistent, fast shooting routines, helping athletes get up the most amount of shots as possible. We are located at 4444 Forest St. Denver, CO 80216, in the Central Park area, which is just east of Denver – right off of I-70. We are easily accessible from just about anywhere in the city!
How much is a shooting session?
Our standard rate is $100 per hour for just one shooting session, but if you purchase 5 hours (or 5 sessions) that drops to $365 and 10 hours (or 10 sessions) is $715.
What ages do you typically work with on shooting?
We train athletes between the ages 8-18, but if you are an active adult or a college/professional athlete, please let us know when you reach out, so we can discuss more customized training sessions and service offerings for your unique situation.
How long does it take to see improvement in my shot after working with your trainers?
Progress will look different for everyone. For the best results, we recommend a session at least once per week for at least six weeks. Shooting is also more than simply making shots – it’s reading defenses, screens, dribble-handoffs, and much more, so if you’re interested in a film review session or want to simply get more shots up throughout the week on a shooting machine, make sure to mention that when you reach out!
What are the typical dates and times for working with a basketball shooting trainer?
Training session times throughout the week vary depending on court and coaching availability. This is best determined over the phone or via email, so please contact us to determine what times work best for everyone.
