Basketball: Shooting Machine Rental and Workouts

Why Utilizing a Shooting Machine Matters in Basketball
Shooting is arguably the most important skill in basketball, and one of the hardest to consistently master. Repetition is key. The more shots a player takes in a focused, game-like environment, the more confident and effective they become when the moment counts. That’s why players searching for a basketball shooting machine are taking the right step toward serious improvement.
At RDE Sports, we specialize in helping athletes improve their shot through structured shooting workouts that often incorporate high-rep shooting machine sessions. Whether you’re part of a coached workout or just want to get in the gym on your own, our state-of-the-art shooting machines are available to rent so anyone can put in the work, no matter their schedule or training goals.
How Shooting Machine Rentals Work
There are two options for training with our shooting machines. Athletes can choose to work with a coach in a private setting or they can come and work on their own time, without the help of a coach. If your athlete wants to work with a coach, we’ll help coordinate a good time when one is available and get it booked. The latter offers more flexibility on timing, as an athlete can come in at any time our courts are available and use the machine on their own time. In that case, you’ll just need to coordinate with us to make sure we can get you in! We’ll help get you all set up once you arrive.
How a Shooting Machine Training Session Works at RDE Sports
Our shooting machine sessions are structured to maximize repetitions, refine mechanics, and target specific areas of a player’s shooting game. Each coach-led session typically begins with form shooting to warm up, followed by a series of drills that rotate through spots on the floor including catch-and-shoot, off-the-dribble, and game-scenario shooting. The shooting machine keeps the tempo fast and consistent so players can stay locked in without interruptions.
Unlike traditional basketball training, a shooting machine workout emphasizes muscle memory by allowing players to take hundreds of shots in a single session. This repetition builds rhythm, confidence, and consistency, helping athletes translate training results directly into game performance.

Example Shooting Machine Workouts to Try
Whether you’re training with one of our coaches or renting the machine solo, we’ve got proven drills that can help sharpen your shot and elevate your game. Here are a few drills you can try during your next session at RDE Sports:
Spot-Up Shooting
Shoot from five key areas: corners, wings, top of the key, and short corner. Take 10–15 reps per spot and track your makes. This builds rhythm and confidence in your catch-and-shoot form.
1-Dribble Pull-Ups
Set the machine to alternate passes to both sides. Catch, take one hard dribble left or right, and rise for a mid-range pull-up. Focus on footwork, balance, and quick elevation.
Game-Speed 3s
Simulate high-pressure game shots by setting a timer or goal — like making 20 threes in 2 minutes. Move continuously between spots while keeping pace. Great for conditioning and mental toughness.
