Sports Performance: Vertical Jump Training

Why You Should Care About Vertical Jump Training
Vertical jump training is one of the most important aspects of athletic development, giving players the ability to jump higher, move more explosively, and perform better in game situations. From volleyball spikes to basketball rebounds and explosive football plays, improving your vertical directly impacts performance. At RDE Sports, our vertical jump training programs are designed to build strength, power, and technique through proven methods that maximize results. In addition to jump training, we also offer a variety of other sports performance programs, so athletes can develop a complete foundation for success.
How a Vertical Jump Training Session Works at RDE Sports
A vertical jump training session at RDE Sports is designed to target explosive power through focused strength work, plyometrics, and quick-twitch muscle activation. Unlike general sports performance or sport-specific workouts, these sessions emphasize jump mechanics, lower-body strength, and core stability to help athletes maximize their vertical leap. By using structured repetition and targeted drills, athletes build muscle memory, coordination, and the explosive power needed to consistently perform at a higher level.
Example Vertical Jump Training Workouts
Vertical jump training combines strength, explosiveness, and technique to help athletes reach new heights. A sample workout at RDE Sports might include:
- Dynamic Warm-Up: Mobility stretches, hip activation, and light plyometric skips to prep the body.
- Plyometric Jumps: Box jumps, depth jumps, and squat jumps to train fast-twitch power.
- Strength Training: Weighted squats, deadlifts, and lunges to build lower-body strength.
- Core & Stability Work: Planks, medicine ball throws, and single-leg balance drills to reinforce jump mechanics.
- Jump Technique Drills: Repeated vertical jump reps with feedback on form and landing.
